https://youtu.be/k7AwNiWRAw0 Did you see this small treasure of truth on YouTube
I DIDN'T POOP, I PEED,! he told his laughing dad. Oh my word. Yes, I said. Those were the days, when we could proudly make bold and loud statements about our depositions into the waste dumps of the world. We were happy, uninhibited, and truthful about our bodily functions. We knew that what our body was doing was a good thing, a relief, a ticket to presume life and learning and our pursuit of happiness. FREEDOM TO POOP AND PEE!!
But as we grew up and went to schools and offices we lost our constitutional right of free speech-self expression of our natural bodily requirements. What happened to us?
Live Science articles write about the multiple causes of constipation, those being: insufficient intake of fiber and liquids, lack of exercise, medications, older age and abuse of laxatives. That seems like a pretty fair list of "whats" in a world sometimes super focused, lately, on the microbiome and gut health in general.
I will speak for myself and let you extrapolate from my own fouled up history on how your own body may have been regimented into a social system that governs your gut.
My observations started when I was a kid, a long time ago. I remember I raised my hand in kindergarten because I had the urge to relieve myself of the oatmeal Grandma fed me two hours earlier in her cozy kitchen. My teacher said I'd have to wait until the morning recess. So, I learned that very day how to "hold it in." I remember being embarrassed because I raised my hand and no one else did. So, I labeled myself as being a sissy. Doctors today would have been proud of me because I was answering a biological urge to purge! But, back then it was my first lesson in how the universe was conditioning me to plug the purge!
I believe that we humans and our societal constructs have done much to damage the organ that occupies a major part of our torso. I blame the congestion of our small and large intestines (approx. 28 feet long) on our parents, our schools, and our jobs- just to name the largest contributors to our frequent misery. That's right, it's got nothing to do with fiber (well, almost nothing).
This above mentioned website seems to support the ill effects of social censoring of the body's mechanics. It queries whether the stress of not being able to poo or pee when you want and where you want can cause the brain-bowel connection to malfunction.
In schools, offices, symphonies, basketball, football and tennis matches we have to wait for our turn, the recess, our 15 minute breaks, and the grueling task of climbing over hundreds of people in the stands to get to the His and Hers restrooms( wonder why they call it "rest" rooms? Yes, indeed, once we leave our homes our guts are at the mercy of all the restrictions we place on humans who just want to go to the bathroom.
Thence the point of this whole article. WE DON'T WANT TO LEAVE OUR HOMES. WE JUST WANT TO WORK IN OUR PJS, AND GO TO THE JOHN WHENEVER WE FEEL LIKE IT.!! WE DON'T WANT TO RAISE OUR HANDS ANYMORE.
That's all. Class dismissed.
